We've eaten at Pegasus at Alki several times. We always share the shrimp salad and various pizzas. On this trip we dined at Pegasus for two days in a row and didn't even think about pizza. Peg did order the shrimp salad the first day, however. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful both times. We dined alone on Thursday and on Friday our friend Al joined us. He lives in West Seattle. On Friday he ordered the shrimp salad and took over half of it home with him . . . along with six or seven hunks of Italian bread. Pegasus has generous proportions.
I ordered the Tiger Prawns. You get half a dozen jumbo prawns. That's enough to share AND still have plenty for yourself. I actually enjoyed it so much I ordered the same thing when we came on Friday as well. You get a large piece of lemon and lots of cocktail sauce on a bed of celery. I left my bed, undisturbed. I took no prawns captive.
Both days we had soup. Thursday it was an excellent potato cheese soup and on Friday we had an excellent salmon chowder.
On Thursday I had the beef ravioli. I shared it with Peg. There was none left. What brought us back Friday was the lobster raviloli. We thought if they do this great a job with beef, just imagine what they can do with lobster. Our only disappointment was hearing our waitress come back to us and tell us they were out of the lobster. I squeeled and the waiter from the day before who was behind the counter tried to hide. We all laughed. Now, we'll have to return on another day.
Instead of lobster ravioli, I ordered the pesto linguini, which has the tiger prawns and pine nuts. I love pinocchio. Normally it comes with a mixture of alfredo sauce and pesto, but I hate that combination, so I asked just for pesto with my pasta. I would have that again, but would request more garlic in the pesto. Go for the gusto I say.
We were back at Alki on Saturday, but didn't want to do three days in a row at Pegasus. Saturday was a minus tide and a gorgeous day of blue skies and people watching. We had a lovely time.
