The annual Out in the Park festivities was held this year in downtown Tacoma on Ninth and Broadway. Out in the Park booths lined Broadway in Tacoma Farmer's Market style. Information was available from pet care to rainbow-themed wares for sale. Free hugs were handed out along with lots and lots of friendly smiles. Gay pride was quite evident. Everyone was strong and pride was made public. Hope of complete equality was the buzz everywhere. People met, shared greetings, patted their dogs and other pets all over Pierce Transit Park. Attendees enjoyed the music on stage, but there will be an effort to increase musician participation next year.
Jim Brookshire of Green Acres Pet Resort was at the event with his wife, Paula. She manned the booth, while Jim took the photographs on this page of people enjoying the beautiful day . . . and their pets.
