We had seen the signs on at Joeseppi's, but the window information remained the former listed times. In January of 2021 there is no normal. Granddaughter Vanessa and her husband William had given us a gift card for Joeseppi's at Christmas time and we had a hankering for Rib-Eye Steak and whole wheat pasta. I knew Joeseppi's was renovating, so I called to find out what was going on.
By four-thirty we were inside and paying for a "to go" meal. Mary gave me a short tour of the changes, updates, and new layout.
Peg enjoyed the newly redecorated deli area, which now accommodates about six groupings for meals. The deli has been removed. If restrictions are lifted, people can be seated, while renovation continues.
Mary and I visited the lounge. The room has expanded and the bar has been moved to the right side of the room.
Years ago Joeseppi's had live music at close quarters in here. Usually someone playing keyboard and a singer. Very intimate and very nice. Dining in the lounge also got us away from birthday parties. I hope they keep the meeting room. It was a great place for businesses and non-profit groups to gather and celebrate as well has private celebrations. Joeseppi's will have both karaoke and live musics (hopefully not at the same time).
One of the best things about Joeseppi's is their staff. They are always friendly. Paris welecomed me to the cooking area.
Soon we were home and dining on Sicilian Sausage Soup (they no longer offer the chicken tortellini . . . darn), rib-eye steak, whole wheat spaghetti, and breadsticks. Yes, we had left-overs the next day.
We have found a new favorite. Instead of the rings of calamari they used to make, Joeseppi's now offers sticks of calamari. They were excellent, especially with the special sauce they have created for it. Great job! We look forward to live music and your continued good food.
